Where Is Belladina's Pizzeria Located
Belladina's Pizzeria sits at 9 West Washington Street in downtown Greenville, just steps from the heart of Main Street. The small dining room, with just a handful of tables, keeps the atmosphere cozy and personal, and outdoor seating is available for guests who want to enjoy a meal outside.
A Family Business, Generations in the Making
The story starts with Potito Leccese, who moved to the United States from Italy as a young man and spent years working in pizzerias in New York City. In 1983, he opened his first restaurant in Maryland, beginning a career in Italian food that would eventually bring him to Greenville. Today, Potito runs Belladina's alongside his son, Joseph Leccese, blending two generations of experience into one kitchen.
The name Belladina's was created by Joseph's wife, Megan, as a tribute to their two daughters, Karabella and Sabadina. That personal touch carries through the whole restaurant, which opened its first Greenville location on West Washington Street in 2020. The concept has grown since then, with a second Belladina's Little Italy location planned in the Southernside area near Unity Park, along with a future Belladina's Italian Market at BridgeWay Station in Mauldin.
The Menu
This pizzeria is known for offering more pizza styles under one roof than most pizzerias in town. Guests can order classic New York style, deep dish Chicago style, Detroit style, and Sicilian style pizza, along with vegan options for guests who want a plant based pie. The kitchen also makes a gluten free version of its dough, available in both thin crust and Detroit style, a detail that has earned the restaurant a strong following among gluten free diners in the area.
Beyond pizza, the menu includes homemade pasta made fresh daily, along with Italian classics like lasagna and meatballs. Guests can also start a meal with rice balls, garlic cheese bread, or a caprese salad, and finish with a classic Italian dessert like cannoli or tiramisu.
