Greenville has grown fast over the last few years. But what many people do not know is that even bigger changes are coming. By 2026, several major projects will reshape how people live, move, and spend time in Greenville, South Carolina.

These projects focus on walkability, green space, safety, and community life. Some will open in 2026, while others will continue to grow over time. Together, they show a clear plan for the future of Greenville.

Below are the biggest developments coming, all shared directly from the video.

County Square Redevelopment

The County Square redevelopment is one of the biggest projects Greenville has ever seen. This is a one billion dollar project covering more than 40 acres of land.

This area used to hold county buildings. It sits between Augusta Road and the West End near downtown Greenville.

What is coming here is massive.

The project will include entertainment, office space, and homes. A Whole Foods grocery store will be one of the main features. This matters because downtown Greenville has very few grocery options today.

For people who want to walk instead of drive, this area will make daily life much easier. It will also connect Augusta Road, the West End, and downtown in a better way.

Homes near this area are expected to grow in value. Projects like this change how people shop, eat, and live. The first phase is expected to open in 2026, with more growth after that.

Bridgeway Station Soccer Stadium

The Bridgeway Station Soccer Stadium is another exciting addition coming to the area.

This stadium will host two local semi pro soccer teams. It will also be used for youth sports, family events, and concerts. At full size, it can hold over 6,000 people.

The stadium will be located in Bridgeway Station, which is now the center of Mauldin’s downtown area.

This is not a stadium placed in the middle of nowhere. It is surrounded by restaurants, gathering spaces, and mixed use buildings. There will also be homes nearby.

This makes it easy for people to support events before and after games. It also helps bring more visitors and energy into the area.

The Balden Street District on Laurens Road

The Balden Street District may not be as well known yet, but it has strong potential.

This project will be built along Laurens Road, an area that needs new life and investment.

It will be a mixed use space with homes, restaurants, green space, and walkable areas. The goal is to turn older or unused commercial land into a place people want to spend time.

Projects like this help reduce the need to travel downtown for good food and social spaces. They also bring more activity and value to nearby neighborhoods.

This is part of a larger shift happening across Greenville.

Verde Pedestrian Bridge and Safer Connectivity

Safety and connection are big priorities for Greenville.

The Verde pedestrian bridge will connect Verde and the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Verde is a small community near Hollingsworth Park with shops, parks, and a YMCA.

Right now, crossing busy roads can be hard and unsafe. This bridge will give people a safe way to walk or bike without dealing with heavy traffic.

This project is one of several safety improvements planned for the city. It also supports a future where people do not need to rely on cars as much.

The city has a long term plan looking toward 2040, and this bridge fits that vision.

Swamp Rabbit Trail Extensions and Improvements

The Swamp Rabbit Trail is already one of the most loved features in Greenville.

In 2026, there will be new extensions, repaving, and added connections to the trail.

Making the trail longer and easier to reach helps people bike, walk, and stay active. It also helps create a city that uses cars less often.

More communities are now being built with direct access to the trail. This means more people across Greenville County can enjoy it, not just those near downtown.

This is a major win for health, lifestyle, and connectivity.

The Backyard at Pelham

The Backyard at Pelham is another mixed-use development already in progress.

This project will serve people living on the east side of Greenville.

It will include breweries, restaurants, green space, and gathering areas. The goal is to create a place where people can meet, relax, and enjoy local attractions without driving far.

Greenville is building more spaces like this across the county. Each one helps spread activity and resources beyond downtown.

Why These Projects Matter for Greenville

These projects are not random. They are part of a connected plan.

Greenville is focused on green space, active lifestyles, and strong communities. The city knows biking is popular here. It wants to make it safer and easier.

By creating gathering places across the county, Greenville helps people live closer to what they need. This builds stronger neighborhoods and a better quality of life.
