You can enjoy all four seasons here, but the winters don’t involve shoveling snow, which was a huge selling point for us.

The cost of living is also more affordable compared to many other cities in the state, particularly when it comes to housing. We’ve found that we can live comfortably in a location that’s only minutes from downtown, yet we enjoy the peace and quiet of the suburbs.

The city is home to a number of excellent schools, which was an important consideration for us. The Greenville County School District consistently ranks among the best in South Carolina, making it an excellent choice for families with school-aged children.

We’ve also noticed the strong sense of community here. The people are friendly, welcoming, and always willing to lend a helping hand. Whether it’s joining a local parent group or attending community events, it’s easy to make connections and form lasting relationships.

The Downside? Humidity in the Summer

While the city has so many positives, it’s important to acknowledge that summers in Greenville can get quite hot and humid. If you’re not accustomed to Southern summers, the humidity might take some getting used to. However, with so many water parks and nearby lakes, we find that the summer heat is manageable and enjoyable.
